Passion and Poetry

Passion is the elixir that renews:

how can there be weariness

when passion is present?

Oh, don't sigh heavily from fatigue:

seek passion, seek passion, seek passion!

You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you,

CROOKED DEALS
”There is
A madman inside of you
Who is always running for office ------
Why vote him in?
For he never keeps the accounts straight.
He gets all kinds of crooked deals
Happening all over town
That will just give you a big headache
And glue to your kisser
A gigantic
Confused
Frown”
- Hafiz, 14th Century Sufi mystic

The Journey

The Journey

One day you finally knew what you had to do, and began, though the voices around you kept shouting their bad advice --though the whole house began to tremble and you felt the old tug at your ankles."Mend my life!" each voice cried.

But you didn't stop.

You knew what you had to do, though the wind pried with its stiff fingers at the very foundations, though their melancholy was terrible. It was already late enough, and a wild night, and the road full of fallen branches and stones. But little by little, as you left their voice behind, the stars began to burn through the sheets of clouds, and there was a new voice which you slowly recognized as your own, that kept you company as you strode deeper and deeper into the world, determined to do the only thing you could do --determined to save the only life that you could save.

-Mary Oliver

Soft gusts lift his heavy head

Throaty murmurs almost choke him

Calling to the young girl as she passes

Leap Girl, upon my back! I will

Race away with you forever!”

Your Life is Turning Upside Down...

“Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live through you.

And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?”
